🌀Massive Attack “Teardrop” Cover, Looped Live on iPhone

One of my favourites, stuck in my head again.
With next version of Muser Studio in a good place, a well-known earworm from the stag-beetle stable turned into a micro-loop cover very quickly.

The method
Instead of tapping tempo on my shoulder, which is sooo three versions ago, I set Muser Studio’s metronome to 79 bpm.
Keep it minimal: iPhone 16, AirPods, my mate’s £30 guitar. I pressed the loop button to mark the start, then knocked out the heartbeat-style rhythm on the guitar body. No footswitches, no adapters.
To avoid sprinting between phone and guitar, I set loop points a beat before I played, and a beat or two after finishing.
You can see it in how my hands move slightly before and after the loop points.
Loop two was the chiming arpeggio. If you know the song, this was probably where you clocked it. Loop three added a super-simple bass line.
With that quick, spacious bed, I freestyle played the vocal melody. Honestly, that part was a joy.
And there you have it! That's how I did my first cover of Teardrop by Massive Attack.
The time it took you to watch that video is the time it took for me to make it.
The take away
Criminally simple, very satisfying, a low-key nod to a legendary track.
